The Desh  Capital (DC)

The  Desh  Capital was established in 2004. DC is now one of the leading investors in India for  financial markets.

The Group has developed strong links with the investor community, in particular investment banks, commercial banks and regulatory bodies and attracts investment  from a large number of investors overseas .

DC is led by Mr. Arun Siddharth and brings together a core team of senior and young researchers to undertake cutting edge theoretical and empirical research in the areas of financial markets, financial decision-making and financial regulation. Through its investment plans the DC attracts huge amount of investment through mutual funds to stock exchange in India and overseas .

Research at the DC is conducted through a number of thematic research programmes:

• Pensions Research
• Corporate Finance and Governance
• Regulation and Financial Stability
• Financial Institutions and Markets

Each thematic programme hosts a number of associated projects on key research areas and the Centre’s dissemination activities such as seminars, conferences, public lectures and publications are organized around the DC’s research programme structure.

As part of it’s dissemination strategy, DC hosts a series of regular seminars  - Capital Markets Workshop, Financial Regulation Seminar, Taxation Seminar, - which became key fora for discussion for decision makers from the policy and professional sectors. 

The Group also disseminates its research through its publications: the Desh capital Special Papers and Discussion Papers, offer specialist analysis on topical and scientific issues.  Desh Capital produces also The Quarterly Review, a popular quarterly bulleting with updates on the Centre's activites and research programmes and articles on current research issues distributed to around 2000 subscribers around the world. 

Desh Capital is also a technologically-enabled and interactive research investment point which represents the largest single concentration of elite economic science research in India. The DC brings together the Financial Markets Group. The DC provides a highly prestigious environment accessible to corporate partners and features dedicated knowledge-exchange and conference venues.
